There is a really old run down house not too far from us. Each day I drive by it I think about how good it would make as a backdrop for photos. Easter Sunday after the girls got dressed I decided to try it out. We did really well until I told Sophia about the no trespassing signs that we were ignoring. I'm not usually into breaking the law but it was well worth the risk. I love how these turned out, before the girls got all nervous.

The C.Family- Apex Family Photographer
This was my second shoot with these adorable kids. They are so much fun to work with and willing to try anything. Sometimes kids their age get freaked out about standing beside trees, or on railroad tracks or laying on the ground. Not these guys. We had a fun session even though we were battling a very sunny day and cool winds. Not a great combo for a photographer and two small kids! We did it though and I think we were able to get some great shots in and around downtown Apex.
Spring Break at the beach
The girls had Spring Break last week so we headed to Myrtle Beach with some friends. The weather was cold but the kids had a blast. These photos were one of the only two times we went on the beach during our stay! Lucky all of the hotel pools were heated.
Tell me why is it always so hard to get your own kids to cooperate. Their friend took such good direction and gave a great smile. I love her picture. My girls' photos were cute but not exactly what i was hoping for. Always a challenge!

new lens
I was so excited when my new 28-135Canon IS lens came last week. I couldn't wait to try it out in low light to see how it really worked. I must say i was pretty happy with the results. these were taken at f8 1/30th sec iso bumped up to 800. the IS feature does help i've never had a lens with its capabilities. i'll be having fun with this!
Playdate
every once and awhile i break out the camera during my kid's playdates. this little girl is super photogenic and such a natural poser. i'm betting she could soon be a model.
logann, my daughter, the one in the third photo, always has to be involved in picture taking. getting true expressions of her is not easy though. usually i get that cheezy smile. this particular day i was lucky.
