FAQs

What is a typical session like?

My photographic style is light and playful therefore sessions are kept very causal. Be prepared to have fun, I will stand above you, lay in the grass below you, shoot you from behind things, through things, and move constantly. I like to let children be children and try to capture them as they are. We'll shoot for as long as we can come up with ideas, the light cooperates, and the children haven't completely melted down.

Where are sessions held?

The setting is your choice: on location around the Raleigh area, in the comfort of your home/backyard, or at my in-home studio. If you prefer an outdoor setting but do not have a location in mind, I can suggest one for you. I love park sessions for kids and urban sessions for families amongst the cool textures of brick buildings. Downtown Apex and Fuquay have some neat spots, you'd be surprised!

How long does the session run?

Each session is customized for your needs and we will have plenty of of time for discussion, necessary breaks, and clothing changes. Most sessions run between an hour or two depending on the ages of the children. Newborn sessions typically last at least 2 hours or more as frequent breaks are needed for feedings, diaper changes, etc. I also try to capture newborns both sleeping and awake which may take extra time.

Do you offer sessions on the weekends?

Yes, I do schedule sessions on both Saturdays and Sundays to accommodate full time working families.
