Saturday evening I had the privilege of attending and photographing the Comfort Project's Celebration of Life. The Comfort Project is a non-profit organization founded by Noel Tucker in 2008 as a program to help children in local hospitals. Through her organization Tucker currently helps sick children at Duke and Wake Med by donating stuffed animals and children's books. During the celebration Saturday over $4000 was raised to contribute to Duke hospital's PICU wish list as well as to fund a program for the parents of patients during the Christmas season. 150 books and 600 stuffed animals were collected as well. A huge success!
The Comfort Project needs 500 stuffed animals a month to keep up with their donation/delivery goals. Surely you, like myself have bags and bags of gently used stuffed animals that could use a new home and make a child happy. If you'd like to donate please email me at christa@mycreativeclicks.com
Thanks!
Stuffed Animals Needed!
The Tuckers hosted the event at their backyard oasis, huge playsets, playhouses and bubble machines for the kids.
The band None of the Above rocked the night away.
Many artists and businesses donated to the Silent Auction. I am bummed that I forgot to go back and put my bid in for the Duke basketball tickets!
An 11 yr old photographer's work was being auctioned off, so cute!
