The Tooth Fairy - Raleigh Children's Photography

Its loose tooth galore over here! Both my 5 and 6 year olds have lost teeth this week. More wiggly ones on their way out too. The tooth fairy is going to go broke this month at $5 a pop. Its hard to get use to their new look. I wanted to capture their smiles during this period as we know how fast we forget things.

Fifteen Month Old - Raleigh Baby Photographer

This adorable little guy and I spent a morning exploring last week. It was a chilly morning but he was such a champ. It took him a little while to warm up to my camera. But once we pulled out the wagon and started running down the trails he perked up. He's going to a big brother soon and I look forward to capturing his family's photos for years to come.

Edgar - Raleigh Pet Photography

In early Dec. we rescued Edgar a 3 yr old Weimaraner. He had been living in a shelter much of his life. To this day I just don't understand why, he is such a sweetheart and the perfect pet for us after the loss of our last Weim, Jackson.
Some of you may know that Weims are known for being subjects of photography. William Wegman has published countless books where he dresses up Weims like people and animals. Its amazing how well they cooperate. I don't see photography in Edgar's future. Unlike Jackson he won't even look at the camera, nor will he sit or stay on command. But he is one handsome dog!

Front Porch Sofa - Raleigh Band Photography

Recently I had the opportunity to photograph the members of a great local band Front Porch Sofa. You can check out their music on their site www.myspace.com/frontporchsofa . They play locally once a month so make sure to check them out!
Band photography is not really my forte but I must say it was so much fun working with these guys. We had hoped to do an outdoor urban shoot in downtown Raleigh's warehouse district but the weather and schedules did not cooperate. In the Spring when one of the members comes back from college we are planning another shoot,on a front porch, with a retro green cordorouy sofa, assuming we can find one. Keep your eyes open for us. Thanks for a great afternoon guys.

Nine Months - Raleigh Baby Photography

I can not believe this little guy is already 9 mths. old. Mom purchased the baby plan so we have been capturing him since he was in mom's belly. He seriously gets cuter and sweeter each session. He is so dreamy with those big dark eyes and chubby cheeks! Mom brought over a few hats that she had knitted. Loved them! Wish I could be as talented. Enjoy your sneak peek Mom, lots more cute ones to come soon.

First Birthday - Cary First Birthday Photos

This was such a fun first birthday session with little miss A. She did so well attacking her cake, and keeping her birthday hat on. Mom came with tons of outfits for her so before we got messy with the cake we played dress up. Pup pup the pink poodle was right by her side in many of the shots. Baby A will be celebrating soon with a pink poodle themed party. We'll be using many of these photos to create her birthday card too. So cute!

The Horse Farm

Visiting our cousin's horse farm in upstate NY. The girls were so excited to see so much snow while we were there. One of the highlights of the trip was taking this horse drawn sleigh ride through the woods. We learned that the horses weighed over 2500 lbs each and that the sleigh was over 100 years old. We sat on bales of hay, covered up with a big blanket and enjoyed the ride while the snow gently fell. Such a neat experience!

The girls and daddy checking out the horses.
My youngest fell in love with this barn cat. So wish we could get her a cat.
Cousin Briana, such a cutie, wish I could photograph her more often. We were excited that we got to see her but sad that the visit was only for a few hours. My daughters have 2 girl cousins their age, they get along so well, but unfortunately they live too far away. One of the downsides of living in NC!

Christmas Morn

My 3 kids Christmas morning...Everyone made out pretty well this year. Funny how each and every year I say I'm cutting back and then it just never seems to happen. We adopted Edgar in early Dec. so it was his first Xmas with us. The girls bought him the blue dog toy which he loved, but we had to take it away after he started eating it up!
The rainy Christmas day was perfect. We spent the day being lazy, playing with our new toys, eating big meals, drinking wine, and enjoying the day with Grandma who came to visit for the week.

Blonde Cutie - Cary Kid Photography

I get to photograph this beautiful little girl a few times a year. Its amazing how much she changes each time. Love her bright pink jacket and deep blue eyes. They really stand out in these photos. We had lots of fun and quite a workout during this shoot. At 2 1/2 she is busy and loves to run. But with a few tricks I did manage to get her still and smiling at me : )
