Raleigh Cary Child Photographer - Our Visitors

The girls had so much fun this afternoon hanging out with two soft and sweet bunnies. I have lost track of how many times they have asked me how much a bunny costs and if they can buy one for Easter? Funny how they think decisions are made based upon expense. So I exaggerated the truth a bit and told them probably a couple thousand dollars! They finally stopped asking! Luckily these bunnies live very close by so maybe they will settle for another playdate. Two dogs is two too many pets for me right now. They were cute to borrow though for a couple hours. Another Adventure with Avery - Raleigh Child Photographer

We ignored trespassing signs, braved snakes, got covered with pollen and cob webs, laid in itchy weed fields and sweated up a storm last Thursday afternoon. It was all worth it though for these gorgeous photos of Little Miss Avery. She cooperated so well and played along with all my tricks to get her doing what I wanted. We even brought along her super sweet little puppy Mia, an Imperial Shitzu, for her first photo shoot. When we realized she was getting lost in the tall grass and not easy to photograph we took her back to the studio for some closeups. I have been photographing Avery since she was a baby and each session is more fun than the last. 

Raleigh Baby Birthday Photos - Cary First Birthday Photography

Emme came to see me the other day for her first birthday portraits. First birthday photo sessions are my favorite, well second favorite only to the newborn session. They are definitely the most fun and bring the most laughs of any session.
Its especially exciting when the birthday girl/boy enjoys or attacks the cake. I'd say about half of the kids love the cake and have fun with it, and the other half find the sugar repulsive and we have to persuade them to play in it for show at least.

This little girl was a true girl at heart, she loved her sugar and TORE the cake apart! We simply stood back and watched, and laughed.
Mom brought some adorable outfits and props for her so we had lots to work with. Along with her big smile and bright blue eyes we were golden.

The last time I saw Emme she was 5 weeks old and VERY wide awake. Mom and Dad were hoping to capture her in the traditional sleepy, curly, newborn poses but she was way too excited to do any sleeping. So instead we captured her and her big eyes.

Now here she is at 1 year

Raleigh First Birthday Photographer - Evan vs. the Cake

Another fun cake smashing session with a sweet little guy, Evan. He was a bit shy at first not wanting to show off his smile too much, but once he got sight of the cake and a little sugar in him he perked right up. Oh and the crazy singing, dancing show his grandparents and I put on for him might have helped a little too. Love his big eyes and cheeks and his understanding of Portuguese conversation. Every child should be bi-lingual! His mother & grandparents are from Brazil. Unfortunately I was only able to pick up one Portuguese word throughout the whole session, "lindo" only because it's meaning is the same in Spanish.

Year in review - Photographer-Raleigh-Cary-NC

2011 was an amazing year for me all around. My blessings were great I couldn't have asked for anything more. My photography business grew by leaps and bounds. I am so thankful for all the beautiful clients I was able to work with last year. Getting to know each and every one was as much fun as photographing them. As I've said many times before I have the best job in the world. Many thanks to all my clients who make it possible. Happy New Year! And hope to see you all again soon.

P Family Photography - Raleigh Photographer Cary

This session went as smooth as they go. The girls were in a great mood, excited for their photos, the weather was perfect and everything and everyone was beautiful. After all these great sessions this fall I'm really loving family photography more and more.

Elijah turns one - Raleigh, Cary, Apex, Baby, Child Photographer

Elijah came over for his one year photo session last week. I can't believe how much he has changed since I saw him last at 7 months. He has progressed from baby to big boy thats for sure. Though he's not walking yet, he's definitely a busy little guy. He was much more interested in all the electronics and gadgets in my studio, then having his photo taken.Of course when I pulled out the ladder we were able to get him to freeze for a bit. Then since it was a beautiful day in December we took him out in the grass and let him go!
